SS40 is commonly mistaken to be Stainless Steel. It's actually a galvanized steel tube made from a different alloy, which allows it to be lighter than Schedule 40 with a thinner wall thickness and a similar bending strength.

In many cases, SS40 can be substituted for Schedule 40. Schedule 40 can be ordered upon request. 

 Schedule 80 Pipe (heavier than Schedule 40) and colored powder coated pipe are available upon request.
